Apple and Chocolate Crumble
Chocolate in croustade? Yes, yes, it’s really too good! Obviously, the reason I’m suggesting this dessert is that it’s super-easy to make. Try it, you won’t be able to do it without chocolate once you’ve tried it!

Ingredients
Apple filling
- 7 cortland apples, peeled and cubed
- 1/4 cup (50 g) sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) cinnamon
- 2 tablespoon (30 ml) cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup (90 g) chocolate chips
Crispy
- 1 cup (100 g) rolled oats
- 1/2 cup (60 g) coarsely chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup (65 g) flour
- 1/3 cup (70 g) sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) salt
- 2/3 cup (150 g) non-dairy margarine at room temperature

Preparation
Apple filling
- Place rack in center of oven preheated to 350°F.
- In a 10″ round or 8 x 8″ square baking dish, gently combine apples, sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, vanilla and salt.
- Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Crispy
- In a bowl, combine rolled oats, pecans, flour, sugar, cinnamon and salt.
- Mix all the dry ingredients with the margarine.
- Spread the crumble over the apple filling. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes.
