Preparation

Honey Sauce

  • In a bowl, combine all sauce ingredients.

Vegetarian Dumplings

  • In a large bowl, combine all dumpling ingredients except rice paper, sesame seeds and vegetable oil.
  • In a large bowl filled with water, soak one sheet of rice at a time for a few seconds. Remove from water. Drain and place on a clean, smooth surface. Place about 1/4 cup (60 ml) of tofu mixture in the center of the rice paper. Fold two ends of the rice paper inwards and repeat for the other two ends to close the dumpling.
  • Dip a second sheet of rice and place the dumpling in the center of the sheet. Fold in the ends. The purpose of this step is to add a second layer of rice paper to the dumpling so that it holds together well.
  • Repeat steps 2 and 3 for all dumplings. You should end up with 14 dumplings in total.
  • Place the sesame seeds on a plate and dip each dumpling in them.
  • In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat and cook dumplings for about 3 to 4 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Add more oil if necessary.
  • 7. Enjoy the dumplings with the honey sauce!

Note

  • This recipe makes about 14 dumplings. If you wish to make less, simply divide all the ingredients in half, both for the sauce and the dumplings!
