Green Olive Pesto Pasta
Say hello to your new favorite pesto recipe! I really wonder why I didn’t think to add green olives to my pesto before today…. I can’t live without it now!

Ingredients
Green olive pesto
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) pitted green olives
- 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) basil
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) coarsely chopped parsley
- 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
- 3 tablespoons (45 mL) toasted pine nuts
- 3 tablespoons (30 mL) olive oil
- 2 tablespoons (30 mL) lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons (30 mL) water
- 2 teaspoons (10 mL) honey
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 mL) hot pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 mL) salt
- Pepper, to taste
Pasta
- 340 g of spaghetti
- 2/3 cup (160 mL) cooking water
- 1/3 cup (80 mL) coarsely chopped parsley
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) coarsely chopped pitted green olives

Preparation
Green olive pesto
- Place all pesto ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Reserve.
Pasta
- In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta according to the time indicated on the package. Remove 2/3 cup (160 mL) of pasta cooking water. Drain the pasta.
- In the same pot, mix the pasta with the pesto and the cooking water. Serve with parsley and olives.
