THE simplest and easiest appetizer recipe! It’s always a big hit, and what’s fantastic about this recipe is that it’s a two-in-one: the olives are tasty, and the oil in which the olives are cooked is out of this world and perfect for dipping into good slices of bread!

Ingredients

Warm Olives

  • 2/3 cup (160 ml) olive oil
  • 2 375 ml jars of Sardo pitted green olives
  • 1 chili pepper, halved
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) white wine
  • Two large zests of a well-washed lemon
  • 5 sprigs thyme
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) salt
  • Pepper, to taste

Warm Olives

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and place rack in center.
  • In an ovenproof dish, place all ingredients and stir gently. Bake for 25 minutes. Serve while still a little warm, with slices of fresh bread to dip in the olive oil!
